Today is a big day for me. It’s Juneteenth! I will be launched throughout the country on this historic day. Recently, the U.S. Government made Juneteenth a Federal holiday.
Juneteenth is the holiday that celebrates the day that all slaves in America became free.
This day is celebrated by attending church, dancing, music and food festivals. The Juneteenth flag represents the history and freedom of Black people and descendants. The bursting star in the middle represents the end of slavery in the United States.
